Ulysses does all that and when you hit the Publish button in Ulysses, the publishing sheet changes from "Publish" to "Update". When you publish from iA Writer to WP.com, for example, the app doesn't upload images, doesn't set categories nor tags. Publishing from Ulysses is what makes me go back time and again, even as I like iA Writer's approach more. Ulysses, on the other hand, helps third-graders adopt a decent style, but, as with Grammarly and others, it fails if you write texts with lots of jargon - which makes it useless for my writing but perhaps not for yours. In iA Writer you're more expected to know how to write and style your text. Ulysses has full grammar and style checking iA Writer has something that comes close but works differently. iA Writer, by contrast, has a library but in reality it's a folder with text-only files in the markdown format. They are not similar in a lot of areas, one of which the most important is that Ulysses uses a document library that is buried in your Library folder and doesn't allow retrieval of your content without using Ulysses's UI. ![]()
